Can I lay Kilma underfloor electric underfloor heating mat over 18mm chipboard and then floor tile on top/
if i connect two mats to one thermostat, what are the biggest mats i can use
I have concrete floors and want to put boards down to get the most insultation out of the floors! Is it possible to lay this onto these type of boards?
No the mat system is only designed for under tiles, stone or similiar type floor finishes, it can be adpated to be used with a vinyl floor under the manufactuerers guidance
We always recommend a seperate RDC is fitted so the system can be isolated if required
Please can you tell me the length of the cold wire to connect to the power and thermostat?
Cutting the mat (cable) , will mean the system will not work as intended as the cable is a resistance wire.
No as you need to keep a minimum separation of 40mm between the mat (cable)
You can directly put the mat onto the chipboard/plywood as long as the mat is covered in self leveller. Or if you were going to use tile adhesive , you will be required to put a skim level of self leveller on the chipboard/plywood.
